Mimotek became a registered commercial developer with the Adobe Solutions Network in 2002 and has since developed into a major PDF solution provider for the publishing industry. All our solutions are based on Adobe's PDF technology, using the Acrobat API, either through Adobe Acrobat plugins or through applications built on Adobe PDF Library.
Mimotek's area of expertise lies in the manipulation of the content of PDF documents. We were amongst the first developers to make use of the logical structure part of Adobe's PDF specification in order to add tagging to PDF documents.
Mimotek's flagship product Structuriser, for example, automatically recognises the arrangement of articles on a newspaper page, and writes the inferred document structure back into the PDF file, so that the page contents can be exported in a variety of formats at various levels of aggregation.
Mimotek is a licencee of Adobe PDF Library through Datalogics Inc. This toolkit allows the rapid development of stand-alone applications that take full advantage of Adobe's core Acrobat technology but which are not dependent on the Acrobat application itself. In particular it allows PDF processing on a true server platform.
